Assault Charge Dismissed After Civil Compromise

August 2026

Our client was charged with Assault in the Fourth Degree in Alaska District Court. The charge was based on allegations that another person had been placed in fear of injury.

After the case was filed, the client completed treatment and resolved the complaining witness's concerns through a civil compromise. The complaining witness acknowledged satisfaction and did not object to dismissal.

The defense moved to dismiss the case under Alaska's civil compromise statutes. The State opposed the request. After briefing and a hearing, the court approved the civil compromise and dismissed the case.

The case was dismissed, and no criminal conviction was entered.

Every case is different and depends on its own facts, evidence, law, and procedural history. Past results do not guarantee future outcomes.
